Ian Kew has been in the quality food business for the majority of his life. He is classically trained in the art of food and honed his skills in of some of the best hotels and restaurants in both London and the Channel Islands. Ian has been a top chef for over 30 years.
Our whole business started with Ian creating pies for family and friends in his kitchen at home. This progressed to selling them, on recommendation and word of mouth, from a wicker basket at local pubs and shops.
In 2007 Ian had out grown his home based business, it was clear that larger professional premises were required. The kitchen in North Walsham was kitted out and the Mr. Kew’s Pies brand was born, selling high quality local produce to retailers in both Norfolk and London and at various markets. Ian’s son Ben, himself a talented chef was soon drafted in as the business grew.
Since then we have gradually grown, winning a gold and two silver awards at the British Pie Awards on our first attempt! We now sell our pies, pates, soups, sausage rolls and sauces from our 5 star rated kitchen in North Walsham, Norfolk, through an ever increasing number of retailers and markets. Our next step will be to launch our online store to enable people from all over the country to enjoy Mr. Kew’s Pies.
