Now in its third year, this two day food and drink celebration will be showcasing a range of produce from real ales, fish, meat, honey, chilli products and cakes to fruit, ice cream, cheese, fresh juices and much more. In a new move for 2012 the festival will offer a food-court area providing everyone with outstanding local food and drink for consumption on site. Children’s activities are also planned.
During the festival weekend, the hugely popular cookery theatre in its trade-mark octagonal
tent in the courtyard will see demonstrations by celebrity chefs, organised and hosted by local food supremo Mary Kemp. The festival also runs a popular Local Food Challenge with heats in May, June, and July, the semi-finals in August and the final taking place over the festival weekend. Click on these links to read (PDF) about the 1st heat and 2nd heat.
Entry to the festival is free and there is a parking charge of £2.50 which is redeemable in the Holkham Gift Shop against purchases of £10 or more.
